This music was made in the days following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020. My wish is that this music might in some small way aid the cause of true justice, and this project stands unequivocally with Black Lives Matter against the scourge of police brutality and systemic racism.
"Toll" incorporates a recording made in Loring Park, Minneapolis; and includes the church bells of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral.
"In the Shadow Under the Sun" incorporates a recording of a speech made by Mel Reeves (@mellaneous1), long time political and human rights activist, journalist/commentary writer, and organizer, at a rally in front of the Governor's Mansion in St. Paul in the wake of George Floyd's murder.

"Now Distant" also incorporates a recording of Minnehaha Creek, as well as crowd noise recorded at 38th Street & Chicago Avenue in South Minneapolis, the site of George Floyd's murder. In the weeks following his murder, the intersection was transformed into place of memorial and community gathering.
